VirtualDrive Network edition, which is optimized for use
by educational institutions, corporations and small businesses, enables
network administrators to store CD/DVD-ROM images on their servers so
students or employees can access them without having to insert the actual
CD/DVD-ROM disc every time they need to use it.
This revolutionary software emulates your physical CD/DVD-ROMs and allows
you to create an unlimited number of CDs that can be accessed by multiple
users at any time. VirtualDrive provides unlimited scalability – your data
transfer speed and storage capacity are limited only by the size of your
network. VirtualDrive Network is a highly cost-effective alternative to
expensive CD jukeboxes and CD servers. |
How Does VirtualDrive Network Work?
 |
When you insert a disc into
the drive and click Build VCD, the contents of the CD are transferred to a
file that can be compressed to save space.
|
 |
Do this with as many CDs as
you want, and then choose an image to mount. The image appears as though the
CD-ROM were actually in the drive.
|
 |
VCD resources can be shared
across a network and controlled from a single workstation. Product features
include multiple CD-drive support; the ability to build, customize, and edit
CD-ROMs; and a built-in cache manager. |
